Your Opportunity :

A candidate with strong interest, experience and ability to provide family centered nursing care to newborn patients and families is required. A candidate with certification in a relevant specialty area and leadership training is preferred.Successful applicant will : Competently utilize nursing process in providing direct patient care to high risk infants in a level 2B NICU.Involve and advocate for the family in all matters of care.Disciplined and family centered care environment.Independently and effectively make decisions and able to adapt to changing situations.Organize and set priorities.Build commitment and trust with clients and co-workers.Promote / maintain safe work environment.

Description :

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications :

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications :

Basic computer skills.Current NRP certification.Good communication skills and ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required.Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities.Ability to work shift work.Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

Preferred Qualifications :

Recent Level 2 NICU experience preferred.
