Overview
Join to apply for the Grain Marketing Representative role at Richardson International .
Richardson Pioneer, a division of Richardson International, is Canada’s leading agribusiness. Richardson operates across Canada, the U.S. and the U.K., with a commitment to Canadian agriculture and communities. The Grain Marketing Representative will be based at the Richardson Pioneer Ag Business Centre in Kindersley, SK.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains effective business relationships with current and potential customers based on a profit-focused approach; maintain regular contact with local customers.
- Contact producers on-farm to increase awareness of customer needs and develop crop plans for key customers.
- Develop and implement a merchandising strategy for the location.
- Collect grain samples for processing to build a data sample base.
- Develop grain contracts reflecting movement opportunities and customer strategy.
- Adhere to contract compliance (e.g., contract signature and ensuring delivery).
- Arrange delivery of grain contracts for weekly grain orders.
- Provide timely service, marketing options, contracting options and advice to current and potential customers.
- Organize customer learning opportunities that provide incremental value.
- monitor competitor activities within the market area and recommend marketing program and service revisions.
- Participate in market area promotional activities.
- Execute sales programs within the assigned area to meet and / or exceed budgeted grain volumes and margins.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or recognized equivalent, supplemented with successful completion of a Certificate in Agriculture or Agri-Business Certificate, or equivalent post-secondary education. Experience merchandising grain and working knowledge of futures and commodity trading in Canada is preferred. Proven negotiating and risk management skills, with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
