Description :
The Department of Surgery in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream faculty position in the area of Anatomy at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be appointed as the Division Chair, Anatomy for a 5-year term, renewable, following a favourable review.

We will consider all outstanding applicants with a proven track record and demonstrated research excellence in biomedical research that will complement the strengths of the Division of Anatomy in anatomy and cell biology, neuroscience and regenerative medicine. A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching in classroom and laboratory settings, with a sound knowledge of human anatomy, is required.
The successful candidate will have a vision for the future of the Division of Anatomy at the University of Toronto. Demonstrated leadership experience is required.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Anatomy, or related field (e.g., Molecular & Cellular Biology, Medical Imaging, Genetics, Neuroscience, Pathobiology), with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Candidates will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Evidence of excellence in research will be demonstrated by a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked and field relevant academic journals, presentations at significant conferences, distinguished awards and accolades, and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline, as well as strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Candidates must also provide evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students as demonstrated by teaching accomplishments, a strong teaching statement and teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below) submitted as part of the application. Strong letters of reference will be required to confirm these qualifications.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
