We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with experience designing water / wastewater systems. This is a hybrid permanent full-time role, and you can be located anywhere in Edmonton, AB.
Responsibilities :
Working closely with the Electrical Lead to execute design engineering projects
Undertake municipal water and wastewater treatment system and pump station planning and design.
Managing workloads and schedules to provide timely deliverables to project PM and larger design team
Communicate and coordinate with multiple internal disciplines, CAD technicians, engineers, and project managers related to task activities
Writing relevant technical design reports and construction specifications
Providing engineering support during construction and commissioning
Preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and assistance in preparing response to RFP’s
Preparation of design documents such as memoranda and reports
Use of the Quality Management Plan for checking work and ensuring that quality deliverables are being produced
Following established procedures for the production of drawings and documents
Preparation of procurement documents, including specifications and cost estimates
Coordination of tendering processes, supporting the PM, and answering questions from contractors during tender periods
Qualifications :
Degree or diploma program in electrical engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
5 plus progressively responsible experience in the preparation of detailed electrical systems design in water / wastewater-related Consulting industry
P.Eng. or E.I.T. designation registration with APEGA (or eligibility to register)
Experience in the application of electrical codes and standards such as CEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEMA, etc.
PLC Programming and Systems Integration experience in an asset
Experience with 3D, building information management (BIM) design platforms, Revit and Autodesk Plant 3D is an asset
Ability to work in an environment with conflicting deadlines and prioritize deliveries
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
