SPECIFICATIONS WRITER
Industry : Light Industrial, Agricultural & Commercial Projects
Location : Remote (anywhere in Canada)
Compensation : $65,000 - 100,000
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
OUr Client, a reputatble design and architecture firm is looking for a Specifications Writer to support a variety of light industrial, agricultural, and commercial projects. This role focuses on maintaining consistent, high-quality specifications, mentoring teams, and supporting construction documentation from early design through to completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain standardized, up-to-date specifications.
Guide project teams through specification development across all phases.
Integrate sustainable materials and maintain a vetted materials list.
Support tendering, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
Maintain the material library and liaise with vendors to stay informed on product innovations.
QUALIFICATIONS
3–5 years of experience in specification writing.
Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction materials.
Experience with light industrial, agricultural, and / or commercial projects preferred.
Understanding of sustainable design practices.
Familiarity with tendering and contract admin processes.
CSC or CSI membership is a plus.
Proficiency in BIM / specification software is an asset.
