DC General Manager Location : Saint John Distribution Centre / 550 McAllister Drive / Saint John, NB, E2J 4N9, CANADA SUMMARYThe DC General Manager is responsible for the operational success and all facets of the facility by developing strategies and objectives that maximize productivity and leverage expenses.General duties and responsibilities Oversees the entire operation of the distribution centerDirect responsibility over a 100,000+ sq. ft. warehouse and 60+ Team MembersProvide leadership and review the daily duties of warehouse manager, customer service manager and supervisors. Ensures that all work is performed in an efficient, profitable, safe and productive manner and in adherence to company policies, local, provincial and federal laws. Responsible for achieving all company goals as assigned to the distribution center. Responsible for the safety of the facility, sanitation and cleanlinessEstablishes and maintains an environment where teammates develop their maximum potential; through timely assessments of performance; identification of skill development needs and development activities. Monitor and attain key performance indicators (KPI) Coach, train, and develop management team providing both informal and formal job performance based and leadership feedback.Partner with Human Resources to build DC culture, ensure consistency of policies and procedures and drive people metrics.Essential Functions Ensures that customer issues are handled promptly and assists other departments with any issues they may have. Communicates changes to customer base. Reviews production reports and communicates results to distribution center teammates and senior management. Protects the company assets by enacting adequate security measures. Implements maintenance and repairs on equipment and the physical plant. Manages expenses and payroll against budget. Maintains a strong working relationship with management team, other Supply Chain & DC General Managers and related corporate partners; maintains good working relationship with retail stores by constant communication and regular visitsEducations and Work Experience RequiredBachelor degree required; several years of leadership experience in Supply Chain / Distribution Management; or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of the automotive industry and its market factorsSkills / Abilities & Qualifications Required Strong financial acumen. Proficient in business mathematics like P & L, internal metrics, etc.Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management (WMS) and ERP’s. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications Must be very knowledgeable about DOT and OSHA regulations and human resource policies and procedures.Strong knowledge of best practices for inventory control, fleet and driver management, loss prevention, quality control, productivity management, and human resource policies and procedures Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills, as well as the ability to be an enthusiastic leader for all levels across the organization.
