Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled, passionate, and collegial Cerebrovascular / Endovascular / Cranial-Focused Neurosurgeon to join our expanding neurosurgery team in Carmichael / Sacramento, California.

Position Overview :

As a Cerebrovascular / Cranial-Focused Neurosurgeon with Mercy Medical Group, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating complex neurological conditions affecting the brain and cerebrovascular system, ranging from aneurysms to brain tumors. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including neurology, neurocritical care, oncology, and radiation oncology, to deliver comprehensive care to our patients. Successful candidates must be ABNS board-certified or eligible. The ideal candidate will have excellence in cranial neurosurgery and vascular / endovascular surgery, with a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork. Mercy San Juan is a comprehensive stroke center, with a robust referral network for neurovascular and cranial diseases.

  • Call frequency for general neurosurgery would be Q6-7, covering 1 hospital, 1 office location.
  • Strong trauma / neurocritical care / hospitalist team that admits all patients.
  • Comprehensive stroke center (the first in California).
  • Endovascular-trained neurosurgeon would take Q3 endovascular call.

  • Responsibilities

  • Perform surgical procedures for cerebrovascular disorders, including aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations.
  • Dual endovascular training is a plus, including aneurysm coiling, mechanical thrombectomy, MMA embolization, and embolization of vascular malformations.
  • Perform brain tumor and cranial surgeries.
  • Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification, or board-eligible in Neurological Surgery.
  • Fellowship training in cerebrovascular and cranial neurosurgery.
  • Valid California medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork, collegial.
