Sales & Events Coordinator
The Sales & Events Coordinator contributes to the overall success of the Coast Chilliwack Hotel by APA by providing superior customer service, intermediate administrative support, and assistance with selling products and services that maximize property revenues. This position is a dual role, reporting to both the Sales Manager and Catering Sales Manager.
Responsibilities :
Providing assistance to the property’s promotional efforts including organizing Sales campaigns and participating in tradeshows or other related promotions.
Assisting the Sales Manager and Catering Sales Manager to identify and solicit new clients or target accounts.
Participating in site inspections, client appointments, and client events.
Researching and qualifying prospective initiatives.
Performing complex administrative tasks within a sales and catering function, including coordinating meetings, events and activities, as well as managing calendars; drafting correspondence; and preparing presentations and related materials.
Maintaining client records and executing sales automation techniques including activating records of all customer relationship management initiatives and sales activities.
Handling routine duties such as ensuring accurate billing and record maintenance, organizing files, distributing mail, ordering office supplies and maintaining inventory levels of promotional collateral.
Work is performed under general direction according to well-defined, established procedures and involving some initiative and independent judgment.
Work is reviewed regularly while in process and upon completion for accuracy.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience :
1 year related work experience;
Hospitality Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience an asset;
Advanced communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills;
Strong phone manner / etiquette and communication skills with emphasis on a demonstrated ability to sell the hotel products and services;
Intermediate level in the use of MS Office Suite, knowledge of a hotel reservations operating system, experience with Infor SCS and Passkey are assets;
Professional appearance and attitude;
Some experience with conflict resolution;
