Salary: $47,500 - 75,500 per year

Requirements:
  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency with a modern development stack such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or Python
  • Experience working with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and REST APIs
  • Comfort using cloud services including AWS and Azure
  • Strong fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a small team
  • Preference for experience as a junior developer at a legal tech CMS or SaaS company
  • Preference for experience in security operations within a SaaS environment
  • Preference for experience building agentic workflows
  • Preference for experience developing applications that rely heavily on LLMs
  • Preference for experience with load and performance testing
Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain features across our internal software platform
  • Develop agentic workflows and LLM-powered tools
  • Contribute to our cloud data infrastructure on AWS and Azure, including ETL pipelines, databases, and integrations
  • Take part in performance and load testing to keep systems fast and dependable
  • Support end users by troubleshooting and resolving issues raised by staff
  • Help train and onboard internal users on the tools we develop and maintain
  • Uphold our security, reliability, and code quality standards

We are MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law, Atlantic Canadas leading personal injury firm. We are investing heavily in the software and data infrastructure that supports how we serve clients and operate the business. Our small, fast-moving technical team is building modern internal tools, and this is a hands-on role with a lot of ownership and a short path from idea to production. The position is on-site in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, and candidates must be willing to relocate.
