Position Overview :
As a Long-Term Care Worker, you will provide compassionate and high-quality care to residents in a long-term care facility. You will play a vital role in supporting residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being while maintaining their dignity and promoting a safe and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Resident Care : Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and hygiene.
Mobility Support : Help residents with mobility, including transferring, positioning, and using mobility aids, while prioritizing safety.
Health Monitoring : Observe and report any changes in residents’ health, behavior, or needs to nursing staff.
Meal Assistance : Support residents during mealtimes by serving food, assisting with feeding, and monitoring dietary needs.
Social Engagement : Encourage and participate in recreational activities to promote residents' mental and emotional well-being.
Housekeeping : Maintain a clean and organized living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, laundry, and sanitation.
Medication Assistance : Support residents in taking prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed staff.
Collaboration : Work closely with the healthcare team, families, and residents to develop and implement personalized care plans.
Qualifications :
Completion of a recognized healthcare aide or long-term care worker training program.
Certification in First Aid and CPR.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to care for the elderly and individuals with complex needs.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, transferring, and assisting residents with mobility.
Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control practices in healthcare settings.
Preferred Skills :
Experience in a long-term care or healthcare environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic health monitoring techniques.
Multilingual abilities to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Work Environment :
Long-term care facility setting with a focus on providing a home-like atmosphere.
Shifts may include weekends, holidays, and nights as required.
