Job Duties / Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

If so, the Arts and Science department may have the perfect opportunity for you with our new and exciting Arts and Sciences Indigenous Relations Consultant (ASIRC) . The ASIRC is a critical academic position that promotes, advises, shares knowledge and life experiences to advance and bring awareness in a collaborative manner into teaching practices and curriculum development. The ASIRC instructs classes, assists in designing and developing curriculum, and leads the effort to Indigenize courses within the Arts and Sciences department.
Your strong collaboration and networking skills will assist in fostering cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen inter-departmental relationships.
Reporting to an Arts and Sciences Program Head, the ASIRC will support other A&S program heads and their respective faculties across Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s campuses.
In addition to developing Indigenous Studies courses, teaching, curriculum development, and Indigenization, the ASIRC will :
- Teach primarily online, with some in-person duties, including face-to-face instruction.
- Facilitate the KAIROS Blanket Exercise (training provided) for students.
- Support the professional development of faculty (integrating Indigenous knowledge into teaching practices, curriculum, and other exercises / projects).
- Lead the recruitment and ongoing membership of an Indigenous Advisory Committee.
