Accounting Manager

Markham

100-120K

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee accounting systems and controls for all associated companies.
  • Advise the President on financial policies and company objectives.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for annual financial reviews.
  • Ensure timely federal and provincial tax filings.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and financial obligations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (banks, shareholders, suppliers, etc.).
  • Lead and manage the accounting team, including some AP / AR processing.
  • Oversee the call centre and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Hands-on accounting in a small business environment ($5M-$20M, 20-100 employees).

    • Requirements :

  • CPA designation (completed or near completion).
  • 2-5 years of experience as an accounting manager / team lead. (Must come from a small environment and be very hands on as only 1 direct report)
  • Strong IT skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with new system implementations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Sage 300 / Accpac and the service industry is a plus.
  • Previous experience working for a smaller company
