Join to apply for the Architect, Public Buildings role at NORR .

Public sector decision-makers look to NORR’s experienced team to help navigate the full project cycle from planning to design to execution. Our extensive work in public buildings ranges from government campuses and embassies to cultural buildings and museums.

As an Architect, you will work with other members of the design team to develop design solutions appropriate to the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of architectural projects . You will collaborate with other professional disciplines and have opportunities to coordinate the design through all phases of the project.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Compile information from reports and published documents; evaluate and analyze the information to understand broad requirements of the project.
  • Develop architectural designs to ensure an exemplary solution that meets quality parameters, project timelines, and budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinate design intent with other disciplines.
  • Integrate engineering requirements, site surveys, and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Prepare design reports, drawings, and models following office standards.
  • Perform site visits to determine compliance with construction documents; identify deviations and liaise with owners and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
  • Review project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant codes, and quality controls.

Required Skills

  • Experience in all phases of the project cycle is required.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and others.
  • Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required.
  • Related post-secondary education completed.
  • Registration with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset.

  • Experience in Public Buildings projects is an asset.
