Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our Tecumseh Manufacturing, Quality team as a(n) :
Quality Engineer
This position offers a compensation range of $65,000 – $90,000 dependent on skills and experience.
This posting is for an existing, currently vacant position within Plasman.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining quality processes that support new product launches and ongoing manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements through the application of quality tools, cross‑functional support, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following :
Plan, implement, and maintain quality tools including Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, FMEAs, and PPAP documentation
Support part validation, testing, and submissions (PPAP, IMDS, DVP&R, NMRs, AARs, appearance approvals, etc.)
Ensure clarification of part requirements related to appearance, fit, function, and performance
Perform and review MSA (fixture studies) and SPC (capability studies)
Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, work instructions, and data records
Support pre‑production builds, Run‑at‑Rate activities, and process audits
Verify operator training and compliance to work instructions
Review and approve supplier submissions and support supplier quality activities, as required
Identify, communicate, and support corrective actions for quality issues and customer concerns
Assist with engineering change coordination under Program Management direction
Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, with preference given to candidates with 1–3 years of Quality Engineering experience
Experience supporting new product launches and ongoing manufacturing operations in a quality-focused environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and standards, including ISO / IATF 16949 (including ISO 9001), and ISO 14001
Demonstrated ability to apply quality tools and methodologies to support compliance, problem resolution, and continuous improvement
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production, program, and quality teams
Proven leadership and teamwork skills with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety
Experience supporting customer issues, audits, and management system requirements
Ability to assist with training of quality auditors and production operators, as required
Knowledge of GD&T and ability to operate and interpret data from a Romer 3D Laser Scanner is considered an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Microsoft Access considered an asset)
Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned in support of quality objectives
