The Opportunity

Mosaic is seeking Legal Counsel to work out of our Nanaimo office on Vancouver Island British Columbia.

The Role

Reporting to the VP General Counsel & Corporate Secretary the Legal Counsel will offer internal legal advice encompassing various commercial matters with an emphasis on real property matters and provide support to the VP General Counsel & Corporate Secretary in multiple areas of law. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Provide high quality and practical legal advice largely focused on real property matters to the business team on day-to-day legal matters and strategic initiatives;
• Draft review and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements relating to real estate matters and interests in land commercial contracts employment of contractors and service providers and data licensing;
• Direct and oversee the work of external legal advisors;
• Assist General Counsel & Corporate Secretary with corporate governance requirements;
• Perform independent legal research and analysis of statutes regulations and case law; and
• Support the business team with relationships with external stakeholders.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $150000 - $190000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill relevant experience and education.
