6145 Temporary Education Assistant

Education Assistant – CUPE Competition No. 6145

Location : District – South

School : S t'a7mes School

Temporary : Immediately to February 4, 2026, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first

Hours : 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant) Rate of Pay : $33.69 / hour (Education Assistant)

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and / or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and / or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.

This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year’s related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).

Competition Closes Tuesday January 6, 2026, at 4 : 00 p.m.
