British Columbia Children’s Hospital and the University of British Columbia (UBC) are seeking a pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon to join a group of seven full or part time pediatric plastic surgeons in a practice dedicated to excellence in clinical care, teaching and research. BC Children’s serves as the major referral centre for infants and children throughout British Columbia and the Yukon (a region with a population of million).

Applicants should be eligible for specialty certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

The successful applicant will fill a FTE position and have a broad range of competencies to allow seamless integration into a combined cleft palate/craniofacial and general pediatric plastic surgery practice including hand, burns, vascular anomalies and trauma. Clinical responsibilities will include on-call coverage, elective and emergency surgery as well as participation in the Division’s general pediatric plastic surgery ambulatory clinics and subspecialty, multidisciplinary (eg cleft palate, brachial plexus palsy/complex upper limb) programs. The Successful candidate will participate in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and post-graduate trainees, including a pediatric plastic surgery fellow.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous development, modelling inclusive behaviours and proactively managing bias. The successful candidate will be appointed to the University of British Columbia Division of Plastic Surgery at a level commensurate with their experience.
