Project Overview

Oakville GO station provides critical transport infrastructure and requires improvements and modernization to support an increased number of passengers and enhance operational performance of the network. The project will include station building upgrades, upgraded platform works, accessibility improvements and parking lot improvements.

Position

Oakville, ON – Project Engineer

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Support on‑site project coordination activities under the guidance of experienced team members, including reviewing specifications, contract drawings, and shop drawings, and assisting with drawing coordination to support efficient project execution.
• Assist with field inquiries and constructability coordination.
• Support site supervision by assisting with the planning, coordination, and layout of construction activities.
• Collaborate effectively with project teams, site supervisors, and field personnel to ensure smooth communication and workflow across project phases.
• Working on workplans for in‑corridor and off‑corridor submissions.
• Checking and tracking workplan progress against schedule and requirements.
• Generating RFIs and coordinating responses.
• Coordinating and tracking sub‑trade activities and deliverables.
• Supporting the project team in planning, technical reviews, and execution.

Education & Experience

• Construction‑related degree or diploma
• Related experience in a general contracting environment is an asset
• Experience in rail and transit projects, particularly with Metrolinx, is considered an asset.
• General construction knowledge including blueprint reading
• Strong computer skills (i.e. spreadsheet, project planning, AutoCAD)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Salary Range

Between $75‑95k, depending on experience
