You will support and specialize in the day-to-day tasks of returning the equipment to operational capability. Your focus would be the short term and responding to equipment failures by providing field troubleshooting support and timely work scopes. You would also support the safe and reliable operation of equipment by completing integrity assessments and recommendations to the Production Unit (PU).
- Minimum Requirements :
- Minimum of seven years of engineering experience with fixed equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, piping systems and familiarization with rotating assets.
- Relevant field experience supporting maintenance and operations in an industrial environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Key Accountabilities :
- Improve existing asset strategies by working closely with maintenance, planners, and operations on reliability issues and failure trends
- Provide front line support by troubleshooting and generating repair scopes of work to address emerging operational equipment issues. Ensure that the equipment in the PU is maintained in a cost-effective manner by preparing Non-Replacement in Kind repair scopes for both on-site and off-site work
- Support root-cause analysis of failures and ensure equipment design changes align with the engineering management systems and are evaluated for the impact on equipment reliability; lead the engineering design of minor plant and equipment modifications
- Work closely with maintenance execution and planning personnel to solicit feedback on repair scopes
- Complete fitness for service assessments and provide recommendations on repair, replace or return to service
- Support Major Event / Turnarounds by providing technical oversight of removal / installation of equipment or components, reviewing plans and schedules, completing found work repair scopes, guidance on any deviations required for SOW, prompt response to requests for information

- This position is located at our Sarnia Refinery Plant location in Ontario
- This is a Monday - Friday 40 hour work week
- If you reside outside of Sarnia, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Sarnia is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided
