Housekeeping Position on James Island

We are a private luxury property looking for individuals to work with our existing Housekeeping Team. Join our friendly team for the summer on James Island, located less than 3km off the coast of Sidney, B.C. James Island provides a fun work environment surrounded by the natural beauty of the west coast.

Qualifications/Requirements

- Previous experience in a housekeeping, guest services or food and beverage role;

- Ability to work a full work day on your feet and lift up to 50lbs;

- Available to work days, evenings, weekends and overtime;

- Valid Class 5 British Columbia’s Drivers Licence;

- Energetic and hard working;

- Self-starter who is internally motivated;

- Strong time management skills;

- Good communication and collaboration skills;

- Excellent attention to detail;

- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;

- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure that a variety of guest and employee areas are well maintained and clean to meet our standards as a luxury property;

- Ensure a comfortable stay for all guests;

- Support other departments to ensure an excellent overall guest experience;

- Assist with opening, staging and closing all necessary facilities.

More details:

- Local transportation to Saanichton is very limited, so your own reliable transportation to the public wharf is required. From there, colleagues will be transported by private water taxi to James Island;

- Standard hours of employment will be Monday to Friday from 7:40am – 3:40pm, with some evening and weekend shifts and opportunities for overtime;

- The Housekeeping position is currently a seasonal position starting at the beginning of May and finishing in September. The position could potentially move into a full-time role for the right candidate.

- Successful candidate should be comfortable with traveling as a passenger by boat or seaplane;

- Successful candidate will be required to obtain a criminal record check;

- If you are not a resident of Canada, you must possess a valid Canadian work permit.
