Graduate Research Assistant, Curriculum Studies

In the appointment of Research Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be :

Conducting a literature review of approaches, strategies and challenges to climate change education in the context of K-12 social studies education and teacher education research :

• Using the Zotero reference manager to compile and share the literature
• Creating an Excel database of relevant findings organized by theme
• Creating an executive summary of themes; synthesizing and writing up findings

Conducting a literature review of the role of affect and emotions in teaching about climate change :

Your general location of work will be remote / online and you will report to Dr. Kim Edmondson.

Required Number of Hours : 10 hours per week for 13 weeks.

Duration of Employment : February 1 – April 30, 2026 (start date negotiable).

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)

Bachelor of Education or experience in a related field. Experience with research methods, literature reviews, and data entry. Knowledge and understanding of social issues in education. Experience with social studies education, climate change education, and / or environmental education would be considered assets.

You must be registered in a graduate program.
