Elder Care Provider Wanted - Als Patient Seeks Caregiver Companion

I am 70 years old psychotherapist looking for a live-out caregiver. I have been diagnosed with ALS. I am mobile with a power wheelchair and I use assisted communication device. I am looking for a compassionate and engaging person.

Minimum qualification as a Health Care Aide is required. Ability to communicate and comprehend English well is very important. We have wheelchair accessible van for my outings. Valid Drivers license and own car is preferred.

The job would start as part time, with the possibility of becoming full time.

Duties include :

Using lift to transfer

Personal hygiene care, showering and toileting,

Cooking and food prep

Assisting with eating pureed food by mouth and tube feeding

Administration of medications

Light household cleaning and laundry,

Companionship and assistance with organizational tasks and on outings

Driving to appointments or shops

Physical activity like range of motion exercises

We are an absolute non smoking home, and have a cat. We are located in West Hillhurst NW.
