Primary Duties

• Implement strategies and activities developed by specialists (e.g., speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, or inclusive learning teachers).
• Support children’s development in areas such as : Communication and language, Social-emotional regulation, Fine and gross motor skills, Cognitive and early literacy / numeracy skills, Independence and self-help skills (e.g., dressing, toileting, transitions).
• Work closely with consultants, therapists, and the classroom teacher to carry out programming recommendations.
• Participate in team meetings, progress reviews, and professional development when appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with the supervising teacher or inclusion coordinator about progress and challenges.
• Adapt materials or modify activities to meet the child’s needs while keeping them engaged with peers.
• Promote positive social interactions and model appropriate behaviors.
• Assist with routines (snack, circle time, outdoor play, etc.) in ways that build children’s independence.

Technical Skills Required
