Position Summary
Based out of Avalon Mall in St. Johns, NL, the Cleaner is responsible for ensuring Crombie premises are maintained to a high standard of quality. This role is responsible for providing custodial duties in addition to the care and maintenance of the food court. Additional duties of the Cleaner include but are not limited to:
- Providing excellent customer service with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to team members, tenants, and customers.
- Removing garbage and waste from tables and receptables in food court and/or all areas of the mall.
- Cleaning tables.
- Distributing trays in Food Court.
- Washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
- Cleaning and disinfecting touchpoints, washrooms, and fixtures.
- Emptying trash cans and other waste containers.
- Watering and tending to plants, lawns and/or gardens.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, dry and wet mopping, scrubbing and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
- Collecting and disposing of tenant’s refuse.
- Wiping and/or dusting architectural features.
- Painting or prepping areas or maintaining seasonal décor.
- Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
- Other special projects and tasks as assigned.
The profile we are looking for
- 1-2 years of cleaning related experience is considered an asset.
- Proven time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and backshift.
- Clear criminal record check.
- Ability to meet physical demand levels including: Capability to meet the role’s medium physical demand level – lifting and/or carrying: seldom 26 – 50 pounds; occasional 26 – 50 pounds. Constant standing Frequent walking and reaching
