Salary Range : $29.11 - $34.23 / hour
Responsibilities
- Provide medical secretarial support to the Forensic Program, supporting administrative, research, clinical and educational activities of the physician and physician staff.
- Maintain and book appointments, organize and maintain office activities, and coordinate conferences.
- Handle program referrals and OHIP billing.
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical staff of the Forensic program and provide coverage for other Medical Secretaries to support program goals and outcomes.
Essential Qualifications
Secondary (High) School DiplomaMedical Office Administration Diploma2-3 years administrative experience, preferably in a Hospital or University environmentDemonstrated intermediate computer skills for software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat / Reader)Minimum 35 wpm typing speedKnowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSAExperience with Acuity STAR databaseGood working knowledge of Cerner OneChartFamiliarity with electronic medical record systemsHigh level of initiative and self-direction with proven problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload in a busy clinical environmentAttention to detail and high level of accuracy in workStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient / customer service focus, including conflict managementExcellent written and oral communication skills and a pleasant telephone mannerAbility to work independently and within a teamDemonstrated willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and skills in a changing clinical and educational environmentDemonstrates a professional and positive attitude toward supporting internal and external customersDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with frequent interruptionsPreferred Qualification : Proficiency in French would be an assetExperience managing Physician schedules an assetTeaching and Research
