Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Senior Communications Specialist position on a 7 - month contract.

Here are some of the key requirements and responsibilities included in this role:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

• Individual who can support communications for incidents/issues/defects that occur in production and require internal (and maybe external) communications.*
• 5-7 years experience with previous roles in communications/technical writing
• Experience in the financial services/banking industry is a plus*
• Attend meetings to discuss new issues to assess communication content requirements
• Draft and send out internal emails to describe and provide updates on technology issues/service outages
• Post notices online
• Draft speaking points for front line teams to speak to clients when required
• Draft client letters/emails explaining issues/outages and send for legal review when required
• Document and track workstreams and project plans re: Winning Culture status and assign red, yellow, green ratings for things that are on track, at risk, off track, etc.
• Building project issues/risks/etc materials
• Track adoption/progress at the people leader/manager and employee levels
• Track key milestone updates to be provided to various forums incl SLM, BMs, gov committees, Influencer network, etc.
• Liaise with comms, key stakeholders
• Create exec update deck and support reporting needs
• Tie into activities like employee appreciation (week), recognition, T&O Café/engagement sessions, ...

Qualifications

Communications/Technical Writing: 5 years (Required)Able to take complex technical jargon and distill into simple, easy to understand language: 5 years (Required)Insert images & hyperlinks into emails: 5 years (Required)Experience in Financial Services/Banking Industry is a plus: 5 years (Desired)Draft and send out internal emails: 5 years (Required)
