The Early Childhood Educator reports to the Casual Coordinator.
Here’s how you will make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis :
Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all children and families of a childcare program.Guide and care for a group of children ages 3 months to 3 - 5 years oldEncourage learning and develop positive self-concepts for childrenEnsure a healthy and safe environment for childrenMaintain effective and cooperative teamwork and communicationMaintain positive and supportive relationships with parents and familiesIn addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have :
ECE Basic I ECE Infant / Toddler & / or Special Needs CertificationChildcare First Aid and Food Safe Level 1Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communicationStrong knowledge and awareness of :Emergent curriculum and the BC Early Learning FrameworkDevelopmental needs of childrenFamily engagement strategies and parenting issues and needsGuiding and caring strategiesKnowledge of the broader childcare field and its role in the communityAdditional skills and experiences may include :
Child care experience working in an inclusive child care settingSecond LanguageTerms of Employment :
Salary : $27.85 to $28.74 per hour plus employer-paid health and welfare benefits. In addition, you may be eligible for a $6 per hour Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement.Full-time (37.5 hours per week)Starting : As soon as possibleLocation : MULTIPLE LOCATIONS DOWNTOWN VANCOUVERThe posting will remain open until filled.
