Job Description
We are seeking a Disability Claims Adjudicator to join our BPA team in Mississauga.

The Disability Claims Adjudicator will :
- Review short term disability applications to determine initial eligibility and entitlement to benefits based on medical and contractual requirements
- Ensure applications are complete and all pertinent information secured for the assessment of the claim
- Evaluate claims by communicating with clients, employers, and health professionals
- Assess function to determine work-readiness and coordinate a suitable return to work
- Communicate decisions to clients both verbally and in writing
- Resolve client issues and concerns in an accurate and timely manner
- Oversee case until return to work or refer claim for case management, as appropriate.
To be successful as a Disability Claims Adjudicator with BPA, you will need :
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a health-related field; and
- Fluency in French is required
- Minimum two years experience in a medical, benefits administration, or claims setting; and
- Understanding of medical and mental health conditions and treatments
- Strong assessment and decision-making skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate ability to respond effectively to challenging and time-sensitive situations
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in handling confidential medical information
- Ability to effectively manage and resolve conflict
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
