Sr Cargo Handler

This is an interview position. To assist the manager in administrative and station operational duties as required. To lead cargo handlers and other sort staff, and participate as a working member in the operation of sort functions to ensure proper package handling, routing and the recovery of potential service failures. To model the way for hourly employees by becoming a mentor and demonstrating role model behaviour including strong communication, conflict resolution and leadership ability (through Best Practices methods).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Three (3) months previous cargo handler experience required
• Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs & manoeuvre any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
• A driver's license is required for stations requiring the position to drive FedEx owned / leased vehicles
• Good understanding of FedEx products, features of service, general operations
• Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrent training
• Demonstrated basic level proficiency in MS Word and Excel
