Pharmacy Assistant

Forbes Pharmacy - Goldstream is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry.
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 40 hours per week.
• The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Typical shifts will rotate between 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., including some weekends.
