GCOO leverages on its 5 Functions to meet strategic ambitions: Information Systems, Real Estate, Sourcing, Group Data Office & Global Solution Center.
As a division of the Global Chief Operating Office (GCOO), the Global Technology Services (GTS) department supports the IT infrastructure services at Societe Generale. GTS’ mission is to provide the group’s business divisions with secured infrastructures. This includes, but is not limited to, hosting business applications, offering cloud solutions, and managing connectivity and digital workplace requests, all while contributing to the group’s digital transformation efforts.

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
Global Technical Services (GTS) is the infrastructure division that supports all entities across the Americas by managing a broad range of technology infrastructure needs, including:
- Workstations (computers, telephones, email)
- Data center hosting
- Network and telecommunications
- End-user computing services
- Market data infrastructure administration
- Data services
Leveraging expertise across these areas, GTS enables the organization to:
- Contribute actively to the Group’s Digital Transition initiatives
- Ensure continuous, 24/7 infrastructure quality, availability, and resilience against incidents
- Guide and support business lines and functional divisions through their digital transformations
- Deliver innovative, tailored service offerings that meet the specific needs of internal and external partners

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Monitor database health, implement resiliency measures, and perform performance tuning and optimization
- Develop and maintain operational control procedures, support processes, and inventory management
- Collaborate closely with developers and application production support teams to resolve technical issues
- Participate in on-call rotations, managing alerts and escalations during business hours and off-hours, including weekends and holidays
- Establish and maintain robust database backup and recovery processes
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Support and implement database changes, ensuring quality and adherence to standards
- Conduct capacity planning to anticipate and meet database growth and performance needs
- Contribute to the development and execution of team and group strategies, assisting colleagues as needed
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
- 8+ years Oracle DB admin (Unix/Linux)
- 1+ year MS SQL Server admin
- 2+ years development (scripting, automation)
- Large database management, migrations/upgrades
- 24/7 investment banking environment
Competencies:
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Database architecture knowledge
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- DB admin certification (preferred)
Languages: French and English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
