The Company

B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

Position

Mine Geologist, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide geological support for open pit and underground development and maintain the geological database;
• Log and sample diamond drill core, map and sample ore and waste headings both on surface and UG;
• Assist in geotechnical mapping for various projects, including fresh air raises and the UG decline;
• Conduct lithology mapping of all UG workings, highwall mapping of the open pits;
• Build and maintain ore wireframes of OP and UG development;
• Assist in preparations for the upcoming underground ore development scheduled for October;
• Gain familiarity with the mine operations and be trained to support ore development activities;
• Ensure readiness and competence to handle ore development tasks; and
• Contribute to the development of strategies to minimize the environmental footprint of mining operations.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Two (2) years experience in a Gold producing mine environment;
• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field;
• Proficient in geological mapping and modeling software (e.g., Surfer, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Gemcom Surpac); and
• Capability to handle samples and equipment as required.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated starting annual earnings are $150,202.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $54.5 and overtime rate of $81.75) in a work year.
