Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Commodity Tax Advisor looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, fast-paced environment working for our client in Calgary, AB. You will play a key role in supporting both compliance and advisory functions across a wide range of Canadian commodity taxes. This position provides technical expertise, prepares tax filings, and supports internal teams through analysis, guidance, and audit-related activities.

Location : Calgary, AB
Schedule : Monday to Friday |40hours per week
Job type : Temporary | Full-time | 1-year contract

Responsibilities :

Prepare and file a variety of commodity tax returns, including fuel tax, excise tax, sales tax, GST / HST, and other applicable jurisdictions.

Ensure all filings are accurate, timely, and compliant with current legislation.

Assist in preparing supporting schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.

Provide clear, practical commodity tax guidance to internal stakeholders across the organization.

Research tax issues and interpret legislation to support business decisions and minimize tax risk.

Assist in identifying process improvements and automation opportunities within tax workflows.

Support commodity tax team members in managing external regulatory audits.

Extract and analyze relevant data from systems (including SAP) to respond to audit inquiries.

Maintain organized documentation to ensure efficient audit preparation and resolution

Qualifications :

Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Minimum two years of Canadian commodity tax compliance experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel.

Experience with SAP, including S4 HANA, is an asset.

Experience with Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query) is desirable.

Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.

Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
