Job description

Events & Project Manager – Iqaluit

Full-time, Onsite

Next Step Recruitment is partnering with a long-standing Northern communications and creative organization to hire an Events & Project Manager for their Iqaluit team. This is a hands‑on role supporting a busy slate of community, government, and corporate events across the.

If you enjoy variety, thrive in active environments, and want work that makes a direct impact on local communities, this is an excellent opportunity.

This position must be based in Iqaluit. Housing, relocation support, and additional Northern benefits are provided by the employer.

About the Organization

You’ll be joining a long‑standing Northern creative and communications team that works across advertising, design, events, digital content, strategy, and public engagement. The organization is known for producing high‑profile events — from community gatherings to large conferences and national visits — as well as supporting clients in government, tourism, healthcare, telecom, non‑profit, and regional development sectors.

The team operates across multiple Northern offices, with a culture grounded in collaboration, adaptability, community connection, and pride in the work delivered. The environment values people who are practical, calm under pressure, and energized by both creativity and logistics.

This role is part of a small, close‑knit office in Iqaluit, with strong remote support from teammates in other locations.

Where This Role Fits in the Team

You’ll be the primary on‑the‑ground lead for event activity in Iqaluit, working alongside one other local team member and supported by a remote Events Manager and cross‑territory creative and digital teams.

While you’ll have guidance and resources, this is very much a role for someone who likes to take ownership. You’ll coordinate with vendors, suppliers, community partners, and internal teams to deliver events effectively — and you’ll be the one making real‑time decisions when logistics shift or timelines tighten.

It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys autonomy but also values strong collaboration.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients, partners, and teammates
  • Comfortable with hands‑on physical activity and lifting (~70 lbs)
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing plans and timelines
  • Ability to work independently with remote support
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Compensation & Benefits

    The employer provides :

  • Salary range of approx. $70,000–$90,000 (based on experience)
  • Northern Living Allowance
  • Long‑term subsidized housing (1BR or 2BR depending on needs)
  • Relocation support (airfare + forgivable loan)
  • Benefits after 3 months
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • Occasional travel within Nunavut
