Job Description
The Investment Operations department works closely with the Investment management team and other business partners to deliver transactional, operational, and accounting support, as well deliver assistance with financial reporting, analytics, and valuations.
We are currently recruiting for the Associate – 18-month contract in the Investment Operations department. This role is primarily accountable for overseeing a work stream as part of new system integration.
Role-Specific Accountabilities :
Accountable for the day-to-day management of investment operations functions; ensuring accuracy of trade tickets and accounting entries, completeness of supporting documentation, validation of transaction amounts and ensuring appropriate authorizations are in place in order to facilitate investment closingsPartner with colleagues from the Investment Departments, Structuring, Tax and Treasury to successfully structure, close and fund transactions by proactively identifying and resolving operational issuesAssist in the timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to benchmarking, portfolio holdings and P&LAssist in the pricing and valuation validation process for principal credit, intellectual property and structured product investments; provide insightful analysis to proactively identify material performance movementsMaintain an ongoing effective working relationship with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved and financial controls and reporting requirements are metBuild a reputation as a subject matter expert in the private investments domain for issues related to investment operations and accountingContinually strive for operational excellence; seek ways to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced controls and data integrityIdentify value-add opportunities, think “outside of the box” and deliver valuable strategic program / project insightDevelop training documentation and process for the CI Operation team.Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or other related disciplineAdvanced Degree or Professional designation such as a CFA or CAIA is considered an assetMinimum 3 years direct experience in private / public credit operationStrong technical and analytical skills, including high attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProficiency with all Microsoft Office applications; aptitude in learning new software applicationsExperience onboarding new instrument is an assetExcellent analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors and recommend a solutionExcellent quantitative and computer skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong team player who enjoys a challenging performance cultureStrong time management and organization skillsSelf-motivated, flexible, adaptableExemplifies our Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership and high performance.
