The Opportunity
The Human Resources team supports the Bayshore Specialty RX division in all fundamentals of HR including, but not limited to, implementing national and local HR strategies in the areas of employee relations and engagement, performance and change management, reward and recognition, training and development, recruitment, selection, retention, and compensation. The team provides guidance, direction, and support in employee and leader inquiries, and supports in rolling out various HR programs and initiatives, while incorporating and promoting a positive culture.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR & Payroll Administrator is the primary point of contact for payroll related inquiries within Bayshore Specialty Rx division (will also indirectly report to the Director of Payroll and Benefits). The HR & Payroll Administrator is a payroll professional with an understanding of Payroll practices, PeopleSoft Application, Account reconciliations and Canadian legislation. The role is primarily responsible for processing multiple, high complexity payrolls for multiple locations and Provinces. This role maintains employee records, ensures payroll data is collected, input, processed, balanced and verified in accordance with Bayshore specifications. This role responds to employee / branch queries via incoming calls and emails, in a professional and timely manner assuming full responsibility and resolution. Branch locations rely on this position for Payroll and Legislative expertise.
Key areas of focus :
Responsible for full cycle processing of multiple high complexity payrolls, in a timely and accurate manner using PeopleSoft Application. (High complexity payrolls consist of processing across multiple provinces, multiple payroll cycles, multiple business numbers, file import / export routines) – 1400 employees
Verifies payroll edit reports and balances the payrolls prior to submission.
Responds to incoming calls and emails from multiple locations delivering the highest level of customer service.
Advises BSRx on payroll related legislative requirements.
Responsible to remit, analyze and reconcile garnishees for respective division
Preparation and distribution of T2200’s for assigned locations.
Complete third party remittances as assigned.
Liaise and communicate information with the Branch Offices as required.
Ensure the accuracy of new onboarding and internal transfer details into Peoplesoft
Ensuring the accuracy of employee entitlements (. vacation, overtime, holiday pay,
Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties
Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
Work flexible hours as required to meet deliverables and business needs.
Actively participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.

Education and Qualifications Profile
PCP required
Education and experience in HR is preferred
Experience
Minimum of 3 years working experience in the following :
Multi province payroll processing
Intermediate MS office applications –Excel, Word
PeopleSoft payroll application
T2200 preparation
Third Party Remittances
Unionized payrolls
Work Location : 233 Alden Road, Markham, Ontario & occasional travel to head office- Mississauga.
The position requires on-site work for the first three months before transitioning to a hybrid schedule that includes at least three days on-site and two days remote.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong business acumen as well as deep experience across all dimensions of Payroll and preferably in Human Resources. Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently or in a team environment, including advanced communication skills both written and oral; providing excellent customer service internally as well as externally, demonstrated ability to probe, analyze and problem solve issues; strong sense of organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to multi-task, to maintain a high level of productivity in a deadline driven environment.
