Palliative Care Physician (200-1559) (Permanent Specialty)

The Palliative Care Physician Group in Island Health have part-time or full time permanent positions available for a palliative care physician in Port Alberni BC able to work in a variety of clinical settings including community home visits and a local hospice.

Description of role:

It will include:

• Provision of palliative care consults and follow ups in West Coast General Hospital and the local 4 bed hospice, Ty Watson House.
• Provision of outpatient and home visit palliative care consults within the Port Alberni area with occasional outreach to the west coast of Vancouver Island including Tofino/Ucluelet (driver’s license and car are required)
• Participation in the rural & remote palliative care on-call schedule
• Teaching and supervision of medical learners (requires eligibility for faculty appointment with UBC)

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

Recruitment Incentive - $10,

Fee Premium - 7.98%;

Annual Flat Fee - $12,.22

Rural CME starting at $/annum in year 3&4 in community, increasing to a maximum of $/annum after 4 years.
