Overview

The Analyst Intern-Health Care position is a paid opportunity for students interested in a 6-month international internship in Canada. While the internship takes place at Analysis Group’s office in Montreal, analyst interns are evaluated for full-time return offers at the Paris office.

About the Analyst Intern Position:

Analyst interns often re-join the firm to start their career as full-time employees. Full-time analysts with bachelor’s degrees go on to top graduate programs; some return as associates after graduate school. Many analysts with advanced degrees progress to the associate level.

As an analyst intern, you have the opportunity to work on complex business problems within a collaborative environment. Analyst Interns can expect to work on multiple projects at a time with the opportunity to use different methods and work on different disease areas. Responsibilities and work experiences may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze health care data using statistical and analytical tools (e.g., econometric model estimation, survival analysis, machine learning) using SAS, R, Stata, Python, VBA and others;
  • Analyzing health care data from a variety of sources including administrative claims data, clinical trial data, registries, and medical chart data;
  • Conducting a range of health economics analyses such as treatment pattern and outcomes, comparative effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and budget impact;
  • Creating dynamic visualizations to rapidly explore data and models;
  • Participating in meetings with medical experts, clients, and case team members;
  • Assisting in the preparation of study reports, manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journal, abstracts and posters for presentation to scientific conferences, and other client deliverables.

We seek candidates who are pursuing a master’s degree, graduating in winter 2024 or spring/summer 2025, and have:

  • A degree in biostatistics, computer science, data science, economics, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, physics, psychometrics, public health, statistics, or related subjects;
  • Passion for data analytics and healthcare research;
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills;
  • Experience or a strong interest in statistical programming and data analysis;
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
  • An excellent academic record;
  • Effectively worked independently and within a team;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • A desire to continuously learn and develop professionally.

Le poste d’Analyste stagiaire :

Les Analystes stagiaires rejoignent souvent l’entreprise en tant qu’employé(e)s à temps plein au début de leur carrière. Nos Analystes stagiaires à temps plein qui le souhaitent intègrent par la suite les meilleurs programmes de troisième cycle, et certain(e)s reviennent dans l’entreprise en tant que Associates une fois leur diplôme obtenu. De nombreux Analystes titulaires d’un Master2 sont promu(e)s au poste d’Associate.

En tant que Analyste stagiaire, vous aurez l’occasion de travailler sur des projets de recherche complexes dans un environnement collaboratif. L’Analyste stagiaire travaille en général sur plusieurs projets à la fois, avec l’opportunité d’utiliser différentes méthodes et de travailler sur différentes maladies. Les responsabilités et tâches qui lui incombent peuvent inclure, sans s’y limiter, les éléments suivants :

  • Analyser des données à l’aide d’outils statistiques et analytiques (ex : estimation économétrique de modèles, analyse de survie, apprentissage automatique) en utilisant SAS, R, Stata, Python, VBA et autres ;
  • Analyser des données médicales provenant de diverses sources, notamment des données administratives relatives aux demandes de remboursement, des données d’essais cliniques, des registres et des dossiers médicaux ;
  • Mener différentes analyses en économie de la santé et épidémiologie portant, entre autres, sur les caractéristiques des patients, les schémas de traitement, les résultats thérapeutiques et le coût des soins ;
  • Créer des représentations graphiques dynamiques permettant d’examiner rapidement les données et les modèles ;
  • Participer à des réunions avec des membres de l’équipe, des expert(e)s du milieu médical, et/ou des client(e)s ;
  • Participer à la préparation de rapports d’étude, de manuscrits en vue d’une publication dans des revues scientifiques, de présentations à des conférences scientifiques et d’autres livrables aux client(e)s.

Nous recherchons des candidat(e)s qui poursuivent un Master2, qui obtiendront leur diplôme à l'hiver 2024 ou au printemps/été 2025 et qui poursuivent :

  • Un diplôme en biostatistiques, informatique, data science, économie, épidémiologie, économie de la santé, politique de santé, mathématiques, physique, psychométrie, santé publique, statistiques ou domaine similaire ;
  • Une passion pour la recherche utilisant des données de santé ;
  • Des compétences analytiques, quantitatives et organisationnelles avérées ;
  • De l’expérience ou un intérêt marqué pour la programmation statistique et l’analyse de données ;
  • D’excellentes aptitudes pour les relations interpersonnelles, la communication orale et écrite ;
  • Un excellent dossier universitaire ;
  • Une grande autonomie ainsi qu’une excellente capacité à travailler en équipe ;
  • Une grande attention au détail ;
  • Un désir d’apprendre et de se développer professionnellement en permanence.
