Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group , based out of our Fredericton office. The role of Intermediate Water Resources Engineer comes with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to :
Work on mine site wide water balance and water quality models (with the opportunity to use GoldSim)Design hydrotechnical components of tailings storage facilities for global mining projectsIncorporate climate change resiliency in hydrotechnical designContribute to risk assessments, Dam Safety Reviews (DSRs) and risk-informed decision makingEngage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutionsWork with the latest versions of software, including GoldSim, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC- HMS, Flow-2D / 3DBe a part of diverse teams of multi-discipline engineers and designers from conceptual design through to construction.Receive ongoing guidance and mentorship from leaders in the industry in a supportive, dynamic company culture that supports career development.Travel to various project sites within Canada and internationally.What we require :
We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. We do however require the following qualifications :
A degree in civil engineering, with a track record of continued developmentAt least five years' civil design experience related to surface water controls for mining projectsYou must be eligible to register as professional engineer in CanadaExperience in channel design, flood mapping, water conveyance and drainageAn ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teamsExperience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirementsIn addition to the must have requirements you will excel in the role if you have the following :
