Summary
Reporting to the centre Supervisor and working under the guidance of Early Childhood Educators, Lakeside Childcare’s Early Childhood Assistants will help plan and facilitate activities and experiences for children. Our ECAs will assist with tasks such as diapering, food distributing, clean-up duties, and general classroom management.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic individual who approaches child-focused care with a passionate, interactive approach to play, learning, and development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in development and implementation of child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of childrenAssist in daily activities : telling / reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the mediums of art, dramatic play, music, et alAssist in maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children and coincides with Sarnia-Lambton Public Health Unit, the Ministry of Education, and Lakeside Childcare requirements.Assist in maintaining a child ratio consistent with the Ministry of Education’s standards and conduct headcounts while transitioning roomsAssist Early Childhood Educators in classroom duties such as tidying after meals, preparing to transition, etc.Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and bathroom habits.Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers, parents / guardians and community-service providers working with children.Knowledge and Skills
