Job Description

We are seeking a competent Mechanical Engineer to support building design and construction within our Buildings + Places business line. This intermediate‑level role may be based in Markham, Mississauga, or Pickering, with hybrid work opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of building typologies for the Federal Government and transit projects.

Major Responsibilities

• Design plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
• Review HVAC calculations prepared by junior staff and develop design concepts and layouts.
• Prepare plumbing design concepts and layouts for drafting by technicians and junior staff.
• Contribute to technical documents, calculations, and drawings.
• Provide technical input to studies and design reports to meet client requirements.
• Perform self‑quality control reviews of calculations or drawings before submission to senior staff.
• Assist in preparing technical specification sections.
• Draft mechanical systems in 2D AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 3D Revit as needed.
• Prepare written reports and deliver results clearly to technical or non‑technical audiences.
• Demonstrate strong communication, written and verbal.
• Operate independently or as part of a team.
• Mentor junior engineering staff under the oversight of the mechanical engineering team manager.

Additional Information

Compensation : CAD $75,000 – $105,000 per year, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
