Shape the World Around You – As a Senior Mechanical Engineer , you will contribute your technical leadership to impactful, multidisciplinary projects that support safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mining, metals and industrial infrastructure systems. You’ll guide design, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver solutions that help communities and industries thrive.

This position will be located in one of our Atlantic offices. At WSP, our Resources subsector plays a vital role within our Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) sector, delivering end-to-end solutions for clients across Canada. For decades, we’ve provided expertise ranging from economic studies and detailed engineering to procurement, commissioning, site management, and mine closure. Your Impact

• Lead mechanical engineering design packages from concept development through detailed engineering, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project goals.
• Develop mechanical systems, specifications, calculations, and deliverables that support safe, reliable, and high-performing operations for mining, metals, heavy industrial clients.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical design with process, structural, electrical, controls, and construction requirements.
• Review designs, drawings, and engineering documents to ensure quality, constructability, and adherence to industry codes and best practices.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers, supporting team growth and capability development.
• Engage directly with clients, contractors, and internal partners to solve complex technical challenges and advance project delivery.

Compensation

Compensation : AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT : $122,900 – $162,800. MB & ON : $112,100 – $154,400. NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC : $111,000 – $147,400. Disclosure : The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
