The IT Solutions Orientation and Design Department of the property and casualty sector, which is responsible for the application architecture of IT solutions (software and solutions), is currently looking for an experienced senior IT architect who has already managed a business integration project or program and who knows how to work in a dynamic environment. As Senior IT Architect, you will play an important role in the positioning of various strategic, highly complex initiatives with major impacts on commercial lines insurance. These initiatives include (but are not limited to) integration of a brokerage network, referencing, software package integration, modernization of the commercial insurance application ecosystem, etc., in which you'll support, advise and influence project managers and teams in developing strategies and defining application architecture. You'll help define the target architecture for this sector. You'll integrate the work of solution architects to achieve an overall vision of the sector's IT assets, while taking into account the directions already defined, including in business architecture. In short, you'll see to the overall consistency across the sector's IT assets as well as their smooth integration into the property and casualty ecosystem and in Desjardins Group as a whole. More specifically, you will be required to :
Support, advise and influence IT and business managers and project leads in the development of strategies with a major impact on the sector
Act as the integrator of strategic initiatives in commercial insurance, and work with other architects and experts to ensure that all solutions are aligned with operational processes and meet the organization's needs through the service quality agreed upon
Rigorously develop solution architecture : Design and build solutions that best meet the organization's needs and align with the strategy and roadmaps
Develop and maintain the target architectures for commercial lines insurance, and make sure that each project helps bring us closer to achieving them
Draft architectural documents and keep architectural repositories up to date
Influence organizational directions (business and IT)
Lead cost assessments for initiatives
Contribute to the implementation of the IT organization of the future by formalizing a modern delivery approach to reap the benefits of systems modernization, that is, by lowering the time to market and cost to market
Monitor and anticipate major market trends and their implications for the commercial lines sector
Support the commercial lines insurance sector in future ideation workshops
Sit on various internal and external committees, representing the IT sector with various bodies
Effectively express complex technological concepts tailored to a variety of audiences (executive communications).

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in computer science or an appropriate discipline
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience working with complex technological concepts tailored to a variety of audiences (executive communications)
Leadership experience in the delivery of large-scale programs (minimum of 30 million dollars)
Experience as an integrator architect (ability to unite a team of architects in business, solutions, infrastructure, etc.)
Experience integrating software packages and replatforming solutions
Experience with system development life cycles (SDLC), waterfall or agile
Experience with IT benefits of modern delivery chains
Experience as a business architect
Experience and / or EIS and / or Guidewire certification
Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
Upper intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (language)-speaking partners, members and / or clients
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance, commercial lines insurance and brokerage distribution networks
Very good knowledge of the ACORD standard
Expertise in one or more architecture repositories and ArchiMate classification(an asset)
