ABS HETC warmly extends an invitation to MUN ONAE students or students of any discipline that has a strong interest in the marine industry in search of a work-term opportunity for the winter semester to assist us in studying aspects of shipping in the Arctic and evolving the advisory service capabilities of the HETC. You will have the opportunity to collaborate in identifying and solving new and interesting challenges, thereby enriching your industry knowledge and making a lasting impact.
What You Will Do :
- Assisting in studies of energy saving and pollution reducing technologies.
- Using ABS’ tools and processes to further evolve the state of the art for ships in ice.
- Developing or enhancing existing tools for enhancing safe and efficient polar marine shipping.
- Collaborating with the ABS HETC engineering team and ABS engineers around the world.
- Using commercially available software to evaluate engineering problems (Rhino D, ANSYS, etc.)
What You Will Need :
Education and Experience
A MUN Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering student, or any discipline with a strong interest in the marine industry.The successful engineering student will be self-driven and able to work independently but still work well with the HETC team.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be available to work a full internship term.Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
