The Research Analyst supports and advances Ontario One Call’s goal of ensuring safe excavation in the province of Ontario by providing policy research and analysis expertise for the Regulatory Policy team under the Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO).

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the excavation industry, the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, 2012 (the Act) and related regulations, and the corporation’s bylaws.

Reporting to the Manager of Policy and Legislative Affairs, this position is located at our head office at 104 Cooper Drive in Guelph, Ontario.

Please note that this role is for a one‑year contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on policy issues, emerging trends, and best practices.
• Analyze and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data, synthesize recommendations, and provide expert, objective, and strategic advice.
• Draft policy proposals, position papers, briefing notes, and formal submissions for senior leadership at OOC, the provincial government and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to assist in decision‑facilitation.
• Provide project management support for various strategic initiatives assigned to the department, including meeting minutes, developing correspondence, and coordinating the flow of information received from other departments.
• Monitor current events and industry trends to anticipate changes, assess the impact of changes and develop proactive solutions.
• Ensure a positive image of the organization and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
