Job description

Our client is an experienced Underwriter to join their Sports, Leisure & Entertainment team! The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years relevant underwriting experience and prior MGA experience.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Review and apply pricing, terms & conditions to new and renewal business
  • Maintaining & growing existing book of business
  • Establish & strengthen relationships with brokers
  • Develop out new broker relationships, including broker visits & discussions
  • Discuss new product development ideas & mentor junior colleagues in the team

Requirements :

  • 3+ years of relevant underwriting experience with at least 1 year of direct experience in SLE risks
  • Prior working experience with MGA
  • Level 1 General Insurance license (or the ability to obtain within a certain time frame)
  • CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP or working towards a designation is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong underwriting acumen, effective communication, and negotiation skills
