How you’ll contribute

TheGeneral Labourer is all about helping customers – whether that’s cleaning, servicing, loading and unloading equipment. It’s important to really listen, respond quickly, and show you care. We want every customer to have a good experience so we do our best to understand what they need and make sure they feel looked after. Responsibilities include:

• General housekeeping, equipment cleaning and yard organization.
• Upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the work environment including the shop and yard.
• Daily equipment inspection and reporting any defects, damages or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Cycle counting of inventory
• Load and unload trucks as needed.
• Clean and wash equipment.
• Become familiar with the equipment components to ensure orders are processed accurately.
• Ensure interaction with co-workers, employees at other stores and external customer/suppliers is at the highest standard.
• Must wear the approved Company uniform at all times while on duty.
• Effectively complete all tasks as assigned and coordinate work functions with co-workers.
• Pick and Pack orders for delivery and pick up.
• Occasionally accompany drivers on pickups or drop offs when as needed.
• Adhere to all Company safety standards
• Use of personal protective equipment as required by the Company is mandatory
• Maintain knowledge of relevant legislated standards, such as WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods etc. that impact on the store or position
• Help promote safety to all Staff, Customers, Suppliers and Contractors
• Report any workplace hazards and help to eliminate them by fixing the hazard and submitting a hazard report.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

• Valid G-Class (ON)/Class 5 (AB) Driver’s License with clean abstract preferred
• Basic technical and troubleshooting skills are an asset.
• Interpersonal and communication skills and effectively able to deal with customers in person and on the phone.
• Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
