Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within the firm by playing a key role within our Real Estate Finance Team. You will be responsible for working on various aspects of our Real Estate portfolios, including working with the team to build out our internal / external reporting suite, completing ad hoc financial analyses, Canadian and US taxes, financial due diligence of potential real estate acquisitions, and financial reviews of current and potential tenants. You will provide professional and insightful support to the Real Estate Finance Management Team and will look for opportunities to improve systems and processes. This role is located in downtown Vancouver.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, Real Estate Finance, your main responsibilities will involve :
- Working with Finance team to create various new reports in order to enhance reporting suite available to internal and external stakeholders
- Drafting various ad hoc financial analyses
- Preparing calculations for US Taxes on a quarterly basis and working with our external US Accountant to fine-tune the process
- Becoming the internal point of contact / initiator for any IRS reviews while working with our US Accountants
- Assisting in year-end tax slip process, including validating T5013 tax slips and investor level information
- Working closely with Investment Team on potential acquisitions where you will stick-handle all financial related items of a possible real estate acquisition from start to finish including : Preparation / review of Financial Due DiligenceReview and validation of Statement of AdjustmentsReview and validation of Post-Closing Adjustments
- Responsible for performing or reviewing tenant financial statement reviews for any tenants flagged by our Asset Managers or Leasing Team before a new lease deal is created
- Assisting with year-end audit process, including liaising with external auditors and review of Financial Statements for various entities
- Involvement in various projects and initiatives as required
- Provide support to Senior Manager, Real Estate Finance as required
- Provide assistance and guidance to junior Finance staff members
- Actively engaging in ongoing learning and development to continuously improve skills and knowledge
