Job descriptionManage the tipping area so litter doesn't blow away. Check compost areas, set up bait stations, and fill out reports about water on-site. Pick up any loose trash to keep the landfill looking good. Work with experts to make sure the waste is filled to grade. Inspect and maintain the bulldozers and other equipment, including adding fluids and greasing parts. Clean trash off the machines' tracks to make sure they run smoothly. Attend meetings to learn about safety procedures and other important information. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Problem-solving skills and common sense. Basic math skills. Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Valid driver's license. You'll be working outdoors in all types of weather. You'll be operating heavy equipment about half the time. The work environment can be noisy. You'll be working until 5 : 45 PM each day.
GFL Environmental is looking for a Landfill - Equipment Operator to join ourteam in Swift Current, Saskatchewan! This is a part time position.
As a Landfill Operator, you'll be responsible for keeping the landfill organized and safe for the environment. You'll use bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other heavy equipment to compact waste and cover it with dirt. This important job helps keep our community clean and healthy.
