The starting annual salary for this full-time School Teacher position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
This is a position in a growing community.
The successful applicant will teach PHE 9, PHE 10, Science 10 and Life Science 11.
This opportunity is a temporary UFN contract, which is subject to change or cancel before June 26, 2026 . In the event the teacher returns to work (work-hardening, part-time, full-time) before the end of the school year, the duration and/or FTE of this temporary assignment will be amended. The successful applicant must accept the reduced work week (amended to a part-time contract) but will have the option to remain in a temporary 1.0 FTE contract by working as a Priority TTOC on other days until June 26, 2026 .
Education & Experience
- Teacher training at the Secondary level with major/minor in Kinesiology
- Practicum work in Physical Health Education at the Secondary level
- Experience teaching Physical Health Education , Life Science and Science at the Secondary level
- Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification
- Major/minor in Science, Biology
- Eligible for B.C. Certification
- Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports

- Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment
- Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics.
- Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning
- Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives
- Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
